Livejournal
I deleted my Livejournal because Six Apart, the company that owns Livejournal, deleted many journals which mentioned unconventional sexual practices. I have no respect for Six Apart any longer. Also not respectable: Six Apart did this 13 days before their IPO (offering stock on the market for the first time), without telling their (admittedly young and whiny and probably mostly uninterested) clientele.
A New Proposal
In the interest of making the coming months more interesting, I am announcing my intention to make book (for bets of no more than three dollars American apiece) on future political events. If the world's going to continue to be an interesting hell, I'm going to put some money on it.

Interesting prop bets; you might want to check out Intrade.com where they take real money bets on current events (including some of the ones you mentioned). Actually they call it a "prediction market" (the lines are set by the bettors and the site just charges a commission). Some current lines as of this reply:
Libby pardonned by end of W's term: 3-1 in favor.
W's approval below 25% on 9/30/07: 9-1 against.

Posting on your world events blog about deleting your personal blog is pretty ironic.
I'm fairly sure I saw you hem-haw on that entry's comments page about maybe not deleting it, but I can't really check that, so I can't tell if my feeling that I've been jerked around is justified or not. Odds are it's not. It is a shame, though.
I did check Google news before betting you $10 that Bush's approval wouldn't dip that far in a week, and saw it listed at 26%. Never mind.
Now I will never get to finish slogging through all your LJ entries looking for stuff that might be appropriate to put on the Mallet wiki. Has Google turned evil yet? -- Axe
